toydriveNov. 22, 2017 -- In the hopes that every child can feel the joy of opening a special gift this holiday season, County Executive Robert P. Astorino today announced that the Westchester County Holiday Toy & Gift Drive will be collecting new, unwrapped gifts and donations through December 14.

Monetary donations are welcome in the form of gift cards, cash or checks made out to the Westchester Child Welfare Holiday Fund.

“Together we can help brighten a child’s holiday,” Astorino said. “As always, I am so thankful to all who are able to give.”

The toy and gift drive will benefit babies through teens living in foster care or residential centers in Westchester. In addition, toys will also be collected to conclude the Puerto Rico Hurricane Relief effort.

The drive is once again being run by the Westchester County Department of Social Services (DSS). Please contact Bryan Paler, of DSS, by e-mail at   or by phone (914) 995-5671 to give a gift card, cash or check and to receive a receipt for your donation.

Collection bins will be located on the first floor of the Westchester County Office Building, 148 Martine, Ave., White Plains, as well as the following DSS offices:

  • Mount Vernon District Office, 100 East First St.
  • Peekskill District Office, 750 Washington St.
  • White Plains District Office, 85 Court St.
  • Yonkers District Office, 131 Warburton Ave.
  • Training Center, 10 County Center Rd., White Plains
