Feb. 3, 2017 -Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino welcomed the Royal Caledonian Curling Club from Scotland to Westchester this morning before the team played the Ardsley Curling Club. Every five years, alternating between countries, the Royal Caledonian Curling Club plays various U.S. curling teams to win the Herries Maxwell Trophy. This year, the team from Scotland toured various curling clubs throughout the United States.
“It’s great to host the Royal Caledonian Curling Club here in Westchester,” said Astorino. “The Herries Maxwell Challenge has been a tradition between the United States and Scotland for over 60 years, and we are all proud of Westchester’s participation.”
