A road race for people of all ages and a festival featuring a host of exhibitors are in store during the Westchester Medical Center Running Festival on the Bronx River Parkway, Sunday, Oct, 9, beginning at the Westchester County Center in White Plains.

The event features a half marathon (13.1 miles) and a quarter marathon (10k or 6.55 miles) for runners, and a half marathon for walkers.

Young runners ages 12 and under can compete in a special non-competitive Kids Fun Run which starts at the County Center. Registration is free and available only on race day.

Start times are as follows:

  • The half marathon for walkers begins at 8 a.m.
  • The half marathon for runners begins at 8:30 a.m.
  • The quarter marathon begins at 9 a.m.
  • The Kids Fun Run begins at 10:45 a.m.

An awards presentation follows at approximately 11 a.m. All events will be held rain or shine.

Registration fees are:

  • $55 for the half marathons (14 years of age or older)
  • $45 for the quarter marathon (12 years of age or older).

Registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Westchester County Center is located at 198 Central Avenue in White Plains and is accessible via Metro North Railroad.

Please note that the Bronx River Parkway will be closed to automobile traffic from 7:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. on the day of the race.
