County Executive George Latimer instructs DSPS to assist County’s seniors navigate vaccine appointment process.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer has instructed the County’s Department of Seniors Programs & Services (DSPS) to use all available resources to help the County’s senior population navigate the vaccine appointment process.

DSPS has an information and assistance phone line that is available to assist Westchester’s seniors on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m at (914) 813-6300.

Latimer said: “As we have been since day one of this crisis, County government has an all hands on deck approach to help Westchester through this unprecedented pandemic. DSPS stands ready and able to assist our aging population so they can feel comfortable navigating the vaccination process.”

DSPS staff will be there assist seniors and senior caregivers access and obtain available Vaccine appointments, if there are no appointments available on the state system due to lack of Vaccine then the County cannot find a vaccine for you.

DSPS Commissioner Mae Carpenter said: “Our information and assistance line is live and ready to be a valuable resource for our seniors. The vaccination process can seem overwhelming, but rest assured we are here to help.”

DSPS reminds residents that if appointment slots are filled, DSPS cannot find additional vaccine appointments.
