County Executive George Latimer invites Westchester County community leaders, chamber members, restauranteurs and business owners to participate in an open forum on Thursday, July 9 at 10 a.m. called “Taking it to the Streets: Dining and Shopping during COVID.” The virtual workshop, presented by the Westchester County Office of Economic Development and Westchester County Tourism & Film, will provide a platform to share ideas and experiences for navigating economic uncertainties stemming from COVID-19, as well as best practices for reopening and recovering from the pandemic.

Latimer said: “We recognize that Westchester County’s small business community continues to struggle through the COVID-19 pandemic. This forum will create an opportunity for business owners, who are all experiencing the same difficulties, to work together to find creative solutions to getting our County’s economy back on track.”

The pandemic has presented a unique set of challenges for merchants, restauranteurs and communities across the County: What can we do now? What should we do next? What is realistic and practical? How can we attract customers to shop, dine and interact safely? The “Taking it to the Streets” forum will encourage productive dialogue to help Westchester County best move forward.

Panelists will include:

  • Lorraine Walsh – Mayor of Larchmont
  • Mike Martinelli – Group Publisher, Today Media Hudson Valley
  • Westchester County Department of Health

Registration is required by July 8 to join the virtual meeting.
