In the ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Westchester County Parks’ annual Cultural Heritage Celebrations series has now been cancelled.

“We have had to make the decision to cancel all of the ethnic festivals that we had scheduled for this year. These festivals are fabulous - they involve food, music, vendors and dance from all different ethnicities - and are always packed. By now, they would have been well underway and while we were hoping we would be at a point where we could resume them by mid-July and extend them into the fall, we do not know if that will be allowable under State guidelines.”

The newly cancelled festivals are:

  • Italian Heritage Festival – Kensico Dam Plaza, Sunday, July 19
  • Heritage of India Festival – Kensico Dam Plaza, Sunday, Aug. 2
  • Jewish Heritage Festival – Kensico Dam Plaza, Sunday, Aug. 16

Festivals cancelled previously were:

  • Polish Heritage Festival – Kensico Dam Plaza, Sunday, May 17
  • Asian Heritage Festival – Kensico Dam Plaza, Saturday, June 6
  • Albanian Heritage Festival – Kensico Dam Plaza, Sunday, June 7
  • Portuguese Heritage Festival – Ridge Road Park, Sunday, June 7
  • Irish Heritage Festival - Ridge Road Park, Saturday, June 27
  • African American Heritage Festival - Kensico Dam Plaza, Sunday, June 28
  • Hispanic Heritage Festival – Kensico Dam Plaza, Sunday, July 12
  • Ecuadorian Festival – Croton Point Park, Sunday, Aug. 9
  • Muslim Heritage Festival – Kensico Dam Plaza, Sunday Aug. 23

The Parks Department continues to evaluate the scheduling all community events and programs throughout the summer and into the fall.

Any additional cancellations, postponements or rescheduling will be posted at www.westchestergov.com/parks.
