“I want to send my best wishes to Muslims across Westchester County as they embark on the Holy Month of Ramadan. For many, Ramadan is an opportunity to reflect on our spiritual growth, our ability to forgive and the compassion we share for others across all communities. Our celebrations will undeniably be a little bit different this year, with so many places of worship closed in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic. But that does not mean that we cannot pray at home, and focus on turning our isolation into inner peace. Let us return to the idea that Ramadan is a spiritual retreat, and do our best to emerge with a restored faith that better things will come.”
