“I applaud U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer’s aggressive work to nullify the federal cap on the deductibility of state and local taxes (SALT). The cap on SALT deductions is costing Westchester residents tens-of-thousands of dollars a year – we are the most impacted county in New York State.  A vote by the Senate today, on a resolution to nullify the IRS rules blocking a much needed workaround to the SALT cap would allow Westchester residents to retain our SALT deduction.

“As Senator Schumer has said, the ‘IRS rules are rubbing salt in the New York homeowners’ SALT-inflicted wounds.’ Thank you to Senator Schumer for standing up for Westchester County –and for all homeowners in New York State.  We are hopeful that the floor vote today with end the SALT assault.”
