October 23, 2019 – In the spirit of inclusion, a main theme of the Latimer Administration, Westchester County Executive George Latimer has signed an Executive Order creating a Westchester County Arab-American Advisory Board.

Latimer said: “Westchester County is proud of the diverse group of residents that comprise it. Similar to our other advisory boards, this Board will provide the Arab-American community the opportunity to raise issues, topics and give advice on a more formal, regular basis. I look forward to working with our appointees on behalf of the Arab-American residents of our great County.”

The Board will be composed of members with a demonstrated concern for, and interest in, the Arab-American community in Westchester and will provide advice, as well as be consulted on, issues that affect the quality of life for Arab-Americans here in our community.

The Board will be comprised of 21 members appointed by the County Executive and confirmed by the Board of Legislators. Of the first 21 members appointed, 10 will be appointed until December 31, 2019 and 11 will be appointed until December 31, 2020.

All subsequent appointments will have two year terms.
