October 22, 2019 – As a part of the 2020 Westchester County Capital Project Budget, County Executive George Latimer is announcing an additional $500K in funding to revitalize the Croton Point Avenue Bridge – bringing the total funding allotted to $1,150,000.

Latimer said: “Croton Point Park is a major asset of the County’s in the northern portion of Westchester. The Village of Croton is currently working to improve Croton Point Avenue and this funding will add even more to these existing plans. This is another example how government, when working together, can deliver services that residents can utilize for years to come.”

Capital Project ID# RB144 will fund the rehabilitation of approximately 0.19 miles of roadway from the west edge of the Croton Point Avenue Bridge to the Croton Point Park Entrance including milling, joint and crack repair, resurfacing, guide rail replacement, installation of ADA sidewalk ramps, new traffic loops and new pavement markings.

County Legislator Catherine Borgia, who in early September requested funding for this project be included in the 2020 Capital Project Budget, said: “The additional funds will, among other things, help create bicycle and pedestrian pathways in our well-used park and tie in with the improvements the Village is making on its stretch of Croton Point Avenue.  Thank you to County Executive George Latimer for adding this project, which will enhance enjoyment of Croton Point Park.”
