August 31, 2018 – “While it also marks the unofficial end of summer, Labor Day is a day to remember the contributions of our union brothers and sisters who have fought to gain the securities our nation’s workforce has today. Child labor laws, 40-hour work-weeks and protections for workers who are hurt on the job are all products of the labor movement. Simply put, the labor movement created the strong unions that are the backbone of our country. When enjoying today with family and friends, take a moment to remember the workers before you, and you, today’s working men and women.”
