During this holiday Muslims commemorate the Prophethood of Abraham through acts of charity and praying for those in need. This day also marks the end of the pilgrimage of Hajj performed each year by millions of Muslims of all ages and backgrounds who journey from all corners of the world to Mecca as a testament to their faith. The pilgrimage of Hajj honors the sacrifice and devotion of Abraham to God, and serves as a reminder of the shared Abrahamic roots of Islam, Judaism and Christianity.
