June 1, 2018 -- Westchester County Executive George Latimer called on Governor Andrew Cuomo to conduct an independent investigation of the electric delivery operations of NYSEG. This after Westchester County Legislators, Michael Kaplowitz and Kitley Covill, issued their own letter to the Governor, asking that he help to rectify hundreds of power outages still lingering for constituents in Northern Westchester.

In a letter to Cuomo, Latimer said: “The reliability of the electricity supplied by NYSEG, as well as their response time to outages has been simply unacceptable, especially after the storms we have suffered through in recent months. I applaud you for calling for an investigation by the Public Service Commission into the response of NYSEG and other utilities after these recent storms, and I hope that the PSC will be able to go even further in mandating corrections by NYSEG.”

Latimer made a number of recommendations to Cuomo, including having NYSEG fully implement the findings of the 2013 Moreland Commission Report, in the hopes of creating a better service for the people of Westchester County.
