“Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a time for us all to join together as a community, and reflect on where we have come from and how much further we have left to go. Dr. King was so much more than a civil rights leader. He was, and still is, a beacon of light for all those who have experienced injustice.
"Let us use this day to not only celebrate the man who was, but also the ideal that his name still represents - for his dream is the American dream. In the words of Dr. King: If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward. All people are created equal, and we must continue his struggle until this dream is realized, no matter the challenges.”
