The Westchester County Youth Bureau (Bureau) is pleased to announce the release of the 2023-2024 Youth Team Sports Programs (YTS) Request for Proposals (RFP). This is a new funding opportunity that supports the operations of youth team sports programs for youth under age 18.

The Bureau invites eligible not-for-profit and community-based organizations to apply for funding up to $50,000 to provide team sports programs that offer opportunities for youth to learn and participate in team sports activities. The RFP outlines all criterion, noting that the application must demonstrate the coordination and implementation of team sports activities. The RFP is available on the Westchester County Youth Bureau’s website: https://youth.westchestergov.com.

County Executive George Latimer said: “We are grateful to New York State for their partnership and additional resources that will enhance the thriving youth team sports community in Westchester County. Given the competing priorities, many families cannot afford for their children to participate in organized sports, this opportunity will create greater access to both traditional and non-traditional sports like Basketball, Swimming, Lacrosse, Golf, Fencing and more.”

Youth Bureau Executive Director Dr. DaMia Harris-Madden said: “As obesity and pre-diabetes rates rise amongst this children and youth nationally, we are making concerted efforts to promote healthy lifestyles and physical well-being. By engaging in team sports, children and youth will enjoy the outdoors and local facilities while learning about healthy competition, leadership, and teamwork.”

Organizations interested in responding to this RFP must submit a complete proposal via email at on or before December 14, 2023 at 3:00a.m. with the subject line “Youth Sports Team Proposal.” A list of Questions & Answers has been posted on Youth Bureau’s website.
