The Westchester County Youth Board and Bureau are pleased to announce the release of the 2022 Youth Service Award application. This year, the Westchester County Youth Board will honor youth who have demonstrated leadership and/or service with a social justice lens in their community. 

Nominees must be a current high school junior or senior that is a resident of Westchester County. These students should exhibit a commitment to improving society through leadership and volunteerism. The award criteria is described more fully on the nomination form, which can be obtained by emailing .

Westchester County Executive George Latimer said: “Every year, I look forward to joining the Westchester County Youth Bureau and Board to recognize stellar youth who demonstrate commitment to improving their communities. Whether it is combatting food insecurity, climate change, educational disparity, or other important issues, we value the youths’ efforts and hope that the public will nominate a young person today for their outstanding service.

Executive Director of the Westchester County Youth Bureau Dr. DaMia Harris Madden said: “I am always inspired by the Youth Services award, which allows several impressive youth to be honored for their volunteerism and leadership. Although we cannot honor all of the County’s youth at once, we look forward to having a robust pool of candidates to be selected from and celebrated.

President of the Youth Board Dr. Alexandria Connally explained: “It will be the Board’s privilege to review and select the future Youth Service Award recipients. We are focused on identifying youth who have committed themselves to social justice and service.
