Westchester County Executive George Latimer presented Bagels and Deli Express owner Anthony Barona with a certificate of recognition during its grand opening in White Plains. Latimer joined White Plains Mayor Thomas Roach for the ribbon cutting.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer said: “To see a new business open up as the County rebounds from the pandemic not only gives customers more options, it also gives local business owners hope to keep striving despite the obstacles thrown at us in 2020. We are proud Mr. Barona chose Westchester County as the site of his new business.”

White Plains Mayor Thomas Roach said: "I am happy to welcome Bagels & Deli Express to the City of White Plains. Its location on Westchester Avenue as it curves and becomes Broadway is convenient to the many hundreds of residents who live in the North Broadway neighborhood and who will surely benefit by having this essential shop nearby."

Located at 38 Westchester Avenue, this is Barona’s second location, the first is in Howard Beach, Queens.

Barona, who grew up in Silver Lake, said his family has been in the dairy wholesale business for nearly a century and was able to survive the pandemic by supplying more than 350 stores across the tri-state with essential ingredients, beverages and other items. Many of those businesses were bagel shops, so he decided to open his own and chose a location close to home.

Bagels and Deli Express Owner Anthony Barona said: “The design of the store was all predicated on the quality of what I want to show and distribute to customers here in Westchester, everything I did I wanted to do for my family, and I wanted to give customers a place to savor and enjoy the food.

Bagels and Deli Express offers breakfast, lunch, fresh smoothies and delivery options.
