Delivering on a promise made by County Executive George Latimer, the County’s Board of Acquisition and Contract (A&C) approved the next major step in restoring Mount Vernon’s Memorial Field to its former glory.

Latimer said: “The restoration of Memorial Field is both an important tangible and symbolic achievement in the revitalization of Mount Vernon. My Administration made this commitment and I am immensely proud to see it begin to come to fruition. I look forward to our continued partnership with our excellent teammates in the City, putting shovels in the ground and getting to work.”

On July 15, 2020 the County of Westchester received four bids for the Memorial Field Complex Reconstruction. The bids were reviewed by the Department of Public Works and Transportation and it was determined that The LandTek Group, Inc., submitted the low bid in the amount of $24,883,600.00. The winning bid from LandTek includes ample participation from MWBE sub-contractors and was approved by A&C in a unanimous vote.

LandTek, whose principles include New York Jets legend Marty Lyons, is a New York based, self-performing general contractor founded in 1979 who specializes in sports facility design and construction. They have worked with over one thousand school districts and private schools throughout east coast, in addition to professional and private organizations including Columbia University, JFK Airport, New York City Football Club’s new state-of-the-art practice facility, and Stony Brook University.
