The Westchester County Continuum of Care Partnership to End Homelessness (CoC) will host their annual Open Forum Meeting on Priorities online, on June 30 at 9:30 a.m. The CoC is a public-private partnership whose mission is to coordinate all of the stakeholders, systems and resources available to prevent and end homelessness in Westchester County.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer said: “The cost of living in Westchester County continues to place a strain on our most vulnerable residents, especially our low-income, senior citizen and disabled communities. Homelessness has become an even greater challenge in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, and this forum will be provide a platform to help us brainstorm different ways to end homelessness in the County.”

The meeting is an opportunity to hear from Westchester County residents, advocates and service providers about the current needs of people experiencing homelessness, as well as to discuss suggestions to improve current homeless services, as well as strategies to prevent and end homelessness in the County. Anyone wishing to attend or present may register through the CoC website.

About the Meeting on Priorities:
Each year, in accordance with regulations of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Westchester County CoC hosts a meeting open to the public. This insures the Westchester community can inform and determine the priorities of the organization as it serves people experiencing homelessness in the County. To comply with COVID-19 guidance, this meeting is held as an on-line event in compliance with Governor Cuomo’s Executive Orders.

All attendees are welcome to propose priorities on housing, eviction prevention and other services to assist people facing homelessness in Westchester County. Attendees who would like to present will be required to indicate this intention at the time of registration.

Presentations will be limited to three minutes, and can be made via webcam or by phone. Alternatively, presenters who do not feel comfortable with public speaking or do not have access to the technology needed to participate online, will have the option to submit a written letter to be read during the meeting.

The Westchester County Continuum of Care Partnership to End Homelessness is a public/private partnership including governmental agencies, non-profit and for-profit entities providing housing and services to people experiencing homelessness. Continuum of Care Partnerships (CoC) exist all over the United States. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development requires any organization seeking federal funding for housing or services for people experiencing homelessness belong to their local CoC.
