DES is responsible for ordering life-sustaining materials for the County and its departments in case of an emergency, such as medical gowns, face masks, gloves and hand sanitizer. The equipment is provided through the New York State Emergency Operations Center, as well as the County’s vendors. With a steady supply of PPE coming through, Westchester County can ensure that doctors, nurses, first responders, nursing home staff and more are able to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic as safely as possible.
