  • Data lags state number by as much as three days due to State release of data to the County only after the tested individual has been informed of their status.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important to take breaks from quarantining inside your home for both your mental and physical health. While certain Westchester parks remain open during these brief periods outside, it is of the utmost important to continue to adhere to strict social distancing guidelines.

Latimer said: “We have kept our parks open because we believe that people need a recreational outlet at a time when most of the rest of society is shutting down. While we have this facilities open, we must practice social distancing. If you are in close proximity to others, you can spread the virus and that is what causes the illness and potential death that might follow. So we are highlighting, if you go to any park, you must keep 6 feet from others and practice social distancing.”

Latimer made this statement on the heels of hearing reports of gathers of residents at Kensico Dam Plaza.
