June 15, 2018 -- “I would like to wish all Muslims celebrating Eid, a happy Eid-ul-Fitr. This marks the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan. A whole month of fasting reminds Muslims to reflect on those who are less fortunate than themselves and to continue to build and strengthen the new habits that they formed throughout the month. The morning of Eid, Muslims everywhere head to local mosques for special Eid prayers, followed by celebrations with family and friends and an exchange of gifts. I wish joy to all who are celebrating Eid. Religious diversity is part of the rich fabric of Westchester County and reminds us that people of all faiths and beliefs must stand together to protect and enrich our democracy and strengthen the places we call home. Eid Mubarak!”
