His first order of business when appointed County Executive was the signing of the Land Acquisition Act, allocating $10 million for the purchase of property in downtown White Plains. This initiative will support the development of 108 affordable homeownership units and 89 parking spaces, ensuring greater access to housing for first-time homebuyers.
Jenkins said: “This was one of my first acts as County Executive, and it underscores my administration’s commitment to expanding fair and affordable housing opportunities across Westchester.”
This investment in affordable homeownership aligns with Westchester County’s long-term strategy to address housing needs and provide stability for families seeking to build their futures within the County.
Jenkins continued: “Every member of our community should have the right to make a home here, and housing needs to be available at a price point that all people can afford. This initiative is a major step toward fulfilling that mission.”
