"As Kwanzaa begins, I extend my warmest wishes to everyone in Westchester County who celebrates this meaningful occasion. Rooted in the seven principles of Nguzo Saba — Unity (Umoja), Self-Determination (Kujichagulia), Collective Work and Responsibility (Ujima), Cooperative Economics (Ujamaa), Purpose (Nia), Creativity (Kuumba), and Faith (Imani) — Kwanzaa is a time to reflect our shared values and strengthen the bonds of family and community. This week-long celebration also allows us to appreciate the richness of cultural traditions and the importance of coming together for the common good. To all who observe, may your Kwanzaa be filled with joy, reflection and cultural pride."
