About WHF

In 1985, the Westchester County/Avon Women's Hall of Fame was established as Westchester's salute to the achievements and contributions of women who have lived and/or worked in the county. It was later changed to the Westchester County Women’s Hall of Fame and Scholarship Awards Luncheon when many other corporations lent their support and enlarged the program.

In 1986, a scholarship award program was started, in conjunction with the Women’s Hall of Fame, to honor local women who are working towards career goals. What began as a $500 scholarship given to one student going to college has mushroomed into 35 scholarships totaling $134,000 in 2008. Learn more about our latest Hall of Fame event. We are now accepting scholarship applications for 2009.
