Mamapalooza 2008
A Festival to Celebrate Women, Mothers and Families in Westchester

Mamapalooza and Every Woman’s Conference joined forces on Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 10am to 5pm at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla for education, healing, music and the arts. Families of every kind were invited to bring their whole selves – their ethnicity, their age, their spirit - for an empowering day to inspire those who need and want to reclaim their ‘Cool’ through the power of expression and know-how.

Morning workshops such as the ‘Strut Your Stuff ’ and ‘Power Babe Workshop’ informed women how to make their ‘dream biz’ come true, and divulged the secrets of getting money to work for you. Dance workshops, art workshops, sculpture ‘in progress’ throughout the day inspired and satisfied the urge for expression. Presentations by local school groups previewed the next generation of creativity. The Plaza at Kensico was filled with informational booths and health screenings all day long, along with action for the kids.

The Festival was presented by Westchester County Parks and the Westchester County Office for Women to benefit the Motherhood Foundation, and organization that creates and presents visual, literary and performing arts events for mothers. Avon Products, Inc., 100.7 WHUD radio, The Journal News/LoHud.com/LoHudMoms.com, The Women’s Research and Education Fund, Westchester Arts Council, the United States Postal Service, JPMorganChase, White Plains Hospital Center, Coppertone, Be Fit Westchester and Friends of Westchester County Parks, Inc. joined the day in support of this event.
