Photograph of passengers in a boat at the Old Mill ride at Playland Old Mill, 1929.
Like the Dragon Coaster, the Old Mill was not completed in time for opening day, but quickly became a Playland favorite, especially for romantic couples. The ride consists of a 1,200 foot long, water-filled tunnel on which boats glide silently. Two riders sit on narrow benches and pass through a miniature city that was ten years in the making. The Old Mill was constructed to run under the Dragon Coaster, following the path of its tracks.
