Farm names registered with the County Clerk. Each entry includes name of the owner, location of farm and short property description.

Podiatrist Register. 1895-1951.

Registration certificates filed with the County Clerk. Each entry includes name, birthplace, address and license number.

Board of Elections Hotel Reports. 1967-1977.

1 v. Reverse chronological.
Lists of all hotels, motels and boarding houses in the County. Includes the address of each and the name of the owner.

Registration certificates filed with the County Clerk. Each entry includes architect's name, residence, birthdate, birthplace and certification number.

Newspaper clippings of foreclosures on home and farm mortgages.

Declaration of Intention Record Books. 1857-1906.

Each declaration includes immigrant's name, age, country of former allegiance, signatures and date filed. Date of arrival, street address or town of residence may be present.

Court of Common Pleas Minutes. 1710-1846.
7 v. Chronological.
Records of the court which heard civil cases between private parties from 1691 through 1847. These minutes record only actions in the cases and do not normally include testimony. The minutes for the 1710-1722 are interspersed in a volume with the minutes of the Court of Sessions.

Naturalization Petitions. 1895-1991.
336 v. Numerical. Some volumes indexed in front. Records through 1927 indexed by: Series 130.
Original petitions which document admission to U.S. citizenship. The petitions may include all or some of the following: name; address; birthdate and place; marital status; date and place of marriage; name, birthdate and birthplace of spouse and children; former allegiance; port and date of entry; name or manner of conveyance; date and court of naturalization; witnesses; signatures. Beginning in the 1930s, photographs are attached to the documents. Includes three volumes of immigrants who enlisted in the United States armed forces between 1917 and 1919. These records include rank; resident base; date and place of birth; date and port of entry with vessel name; names of spouse and children.

Naturalization petitions denied by the court. Each entry includes the petitioner's name, address, occupation and native country, as well as the names of witnesses, the court and date of rejection.  The reason for the rejection, however, is not given.

New York State censuses of Westchester County. Lists permanent residence, name, relation to head of family, color, sex, age, nativity, occupation and residents of institutions (including prisoners and infants). Citizenship information is included in the 1915 census (when and where naturalized, if applicable) and the 1925 census (number of years in U.S. and whether alien or citizen).

Published articles by and about Hugh R. Pomeroy, Westchester's Commissioner of Planning from 1946 to 1961. Many of the articles discuss the problems of communities in the New York City Metropolitan area; others focus on highway development. Some are annotated by Mr. Pomeroy.

Official minutes of the Board which was created in 1939 to formulate and recommend major development policies, to report on the physical planning aspects of annual departmental capital projects requests, to advise municipalities on local planning and zoning matters, and to advise the County Executive and County Departments on development matters.

Courthouse Development Committee Records. 1948-1968.
Less than 1 cubic ft. Chronological.
Files, correspondence, reports, memos, minutes, clippings, photographs, slides and audio tapes created by the Commissioner of Planning, who served as Secretary to the Courthouse Development Committee. Included also are design proposals by various architects, including Welton Becket, selected to design the present courthouse. These files include records collected before the official formation of the Committee which met between 1961 and 1967.

Michaelian Collection: Pre-County Executive Records. 1895-1957.
Less than 1 cubic ft. Alphabetical.
Edwin Gilbert Michaelian (1906-1983) held a variety of elective offices, including Mayor of White Plains. Between 1958 and 1973 he served as County Executive. The papers in this series include correspondence, memos and clippings spanning the period from his childhood until his election as County Executive.
