Commissioners of Partition Records. 1774.

Records of the Commission which divided the estate of Caleb Heathcote (one of the five original manors in Westchester County), which today comprises portions of Mamaroneck, Scarsdale, and Harrison. Includes the original map of the partition drawn by Charles Webb.

Official minutes of the Board established in 1939 to oversee the process by which the County Government conducts bids and lets contracts. Records include bids, votes, resolutions and contract numbers.

Correspondence, reports, notes and brochures. Included are reports on aviation in Westchester and of the Board of Supervisor's special committee on the County airport (both 1941) and correspondence with airport managers in the U.S. and abroad.

Copies of honorable discharges filed with the County Clerk. Records generally include information such as name, age at enlistment, address, occupation, physical description, educational background, birthplace, service record, and citations. Discharges were filed at the option of the veteran. Although none of the discharges in this Series were filed until about 1920, some of them reflect service prior to that date.  Access to these records is restricted.  Please contact the Archives Reference Desk for additional information.

Correspondence sent and received, the majority of which pertains to parks and parkways. Included are records related to the Bronx River Parkway land valuation study (1932) and the Barrett Study (1956) which led to the consolidation of the Park Commission and the Recreation Commission into the present-day Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation.
