The Office for Hispanic Affairs serves as a clearinghouse for helpful information and partners with other agencies to respond to community needs. This section provides information — in Spanish and English — on the resources and information that matters to our vibrant Hispanic population.

Here you can look into scholarships, discover the African American Heritage Trail, learn about our “Trailblazer” awards and efforts to reduce health disparities, and even register to vote. Parents and kids have so much to keep track of these days. Cyber-bullying, underaged drinking, keeping fit, paying for college, just to name a few. Our Web pages have information about these issues and much much more.

The Westchester County Travel Training Program was designed to teach people with developmental disabilities how to travel independently. Here you will also learn about federal assistance programs, including Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and the Medicaid Buy-in Program.

Recognizing that fact, the County offers a variety of resources that will help connect you with the local LGBT community, provide access to help if you need it, and keep you informed of current issues. Here you can find out — among other things — how to apply for Domestic Partnership, respond to a survey on LGBT community needs, and read the executive order on same sex marriage.

One in five Westchester residents is 60 or over, which is why the county government has many programs and partnerships to help seniors maintain their quality of life. Westchester County can help veterans learn and qualify for an assortment of veterans events offered by the federal, state and local governments.
