Current Policies
Westchester County has several policies in place to support and protect its LGBT residents. For more information, contact the Office for LGBT Resources at (914) 995-5742.
On June 7, 2006 County Executive Andy Spano signed an Executive Order stating that same sex-marriages lawfully entered into outside of New York State will be recognized by the county government in the same manner as opposite-sex marriages.
 
Westchester County has a Domestic Partner Registry available to same-sex and opposite-sex couples. Find out how to register.  
In Westchester County, discrimination is not just wrong — it’s illegal. The Human Rights Commission works to ensure that Westchester County remains a place where bigotry, prejudice and discrimination are not tolerated.
