Many county departments and offices have a role in developing programs and policies to keep residents healthy. While the departments of Health and Community Mental Health have major roles, other departments and agencies are involved as well.

This department plans, oversees, and coordinates services for individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse disorders.
The Westchester County Office for Women is dedicated to working for equal rights for women and the recognition of the full worth of all women.
The office functions as a clearinghouse of information for people with disabilities, their families, and advocates.
These pages provide a comprehensive overview of current policies and issues of interest to Westchester’s diverse lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities.
 
The Office of Drug Prevention and Stop-DWI runs many programs, including some to prevent drug and alcohol abuse, particularly by teens. Other programs are geared to enforcement of drunk-driving law.
The Westchester County Youth Bureau promotes positive development based upon the belief that families and extended families are fundamental sources of care, support, and guidance for children and youths.
The Department of Senior Programs and Services is dedicated to identifying and prioritizing the needs of the elderly in Westchester.
The Department’s key role in the community is to enrich the quality of life of Westchester citizens in need of assistance and special services.
