What are Preventive Services? Preventive services are provided to children and their families for the purpose of preventing a child/children's placement in or return to foster care. What services are provided? Services which may be provided include:
How do families benefit from these services? Family members receive support to address the stress related issues that prevent them from providing their children with adequate parenting. Who can receive preventive services? Preventive Services are offered to families in which there is a child or children under the age of 18 at risk of foster care placement as determined by the Department of Social Services.
