Below you will find links to the Social Security Administration and Medicare, two basic building blocks to financial health for senior citizens. 

Make sure you are receiving all the benefits for which you qualify with Benefits Checkup.  You should also familiarize yourself with the information about money-saving services outlined in the 2009 Financial Benefits and Savings booklet. 

Long-term care insurance may or may not be right for you, so learn all you can about it.  And lastly, browse the Consumer pages on this site to help you be a more educated consumer.

Medicare basics
The Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services offers help with Medicare basics, Part D enrollment, Medigap and the New York State EPIC program.
Medicare Prescription Drug Plan Costs
Application for extra help with the prescription drug costs. It does not enroll you in a Medicare prescription drug plan.

STAR School Tax Relief program
Basic STAR is available to anyone who owns and lives in his or her own home. Enhanced STAR is available to senior homeowners whose incomes do not exceed the statewide standard.  Learn more.
  
Benefits Checkup
Benefits CheckUp is a web site that can help people aged 55 and over and younger people with Medicare find and get the benefits they are elegible for. Complete a questionnaire.
