The Office for Women maintains a year-round online calendar for organizations throughout Westchester to post events on educational programs of interest to women and families. Organizations may submit one or more events online or use a printable event form. If you have any questions, please contact the Office for Women.

Breast Cancer Support Groups

Various locations in Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties
Breast cancer support groups offered once, twice or four times per month, by Support Connection, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides free support services to people affected by breast and ovarian cancer. Facilitated by trained peer counselors who have experienced cancer, there are groups for young women, women in treatment, women with recurrence, and all survivors, with a focus on life after a cancer diagnosis, including topics relating to living with cancer through all stages of diagnosis, treatment and post-treatment. Gilda’s Club Westchester, White Plains
11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
A support group for individuals to attend to share experiences, information and ideas with others who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Gynecologic Networking Group

Gilda’s Club Westchester, White Plains
6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.
A support group for individuals to attend to share experiences, information and ideas with others who have been diagnosed with a gynecological related cancer (i.e. ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, etc.). Yoga for Women with Cancer

Ovarian Cancer Toll-Free Telephone Support Group

8 p.m. New York time
A Toll-Free Telephone Support Group for women with ovarian cancer; available to women regardless of where they live. The group enables women with ovarian cancer to support one another and share their concerns and experiences with other women who have the same diagnosis; after registering in advance, participants call into a toll-free number and are connected with the group via teleconference. In addition, help break the cycle of child abuse and neglect by understanding your responsibility as a mandated reporter and learn how, when, and why to report suspected cases of child abuse.
