County Executive Andy Spano and local merchants will kick off  a “shopping stimulus days” promotion, on Thursday, October 8 at 10:30 a.m. Shoppers can stop by at Court Street between Main St and Martine Ave in White Plains to get free shopping bags and discount cards from participating Westchester merchants.

For three of the biggest shopping days of the year, passengers can ride the Bee-Line buses (except the BxM4C Westchester-Manhattan Express) anywhere in the county for free.

The promotion is being offered to get more people to give the Bee-Line a try and to stimulate the economy and give local retail businesses a boost.

The three Bee-Line Shopping Stimulus Days are:

• Monday, Oct. 12, 2009 - Columbus Day holiday
• Friday, Nov. 27, 2009 - Day after Thanksgiving
• Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009 - Saturday before Christmas
