Identity theft is the fastest growing crime in our country today. Each year more than 10 million Americans become victims of identity theft, a crime that cost them roughly $5 billion dollars. The identity thief can inflict substantial damage on the victim’s assets, credit, and reputation without the victim even being aware of the crime.
Identity theft occurs when someone uses your identification fraudulently, typically for economic gain.
Banks don't have a good handle on ATM fraud yet so consumers must be vigilent when getting cash from an ATM.

The freeze law allows individuals to lock their credit files, blocking access to their credit reports. Understand the benefits and the consequences.
