The Water Agency
was created in 1953 to ensure the provision of adequate and safe
drinking water and also to preserve the County’s precious drinking water
supply. Fifty years later this mission remains the same. The Water
Agency also serves as the advocate for Westchester consumers and
suppliers, is the liaison with other agencies whenever major issues
arise relative to our water supply, and takes action to address and
resolve the problems. A major issue the County faced in 2002 was a
drought.
