Preparing National Register Nominations Workshop Series

Three Preparing National Register Nominations workshop sessions were presented by the County Planning Department in late April and early May 2006. The event was co-sponsored by the Westchester County Historic Preservation Advisory Committee, The Jay Heritage Center and the Westchester County Historical Society.

These workshops presented information on the origins of the State and National Registers, the criteria for determining a property’s eligibility for register listing, and capturing historic characteristics of buildings and sites. In addition, over the course of the three sessions, conference participants worked with historic preservation experts to complete nomination materials for properties they believe are historically significant and worthy of listing on the State and National Registers of Historic Places.
