The Local Historic Preservation Ordinance Development Workshop was presented by
the County in the fall of 2001 at the Hudson River
Museum in Yonkers, NY. The workshop focused on how local preservation
ordinances can aid in the preservation of historic buildings, and the
role the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (SHPO)
can play to assist local communities in creating such ordinances. The
conference was sponsored by the Westchester County Department of Planning,
Westchester County Historic Preservation Advisory Committee, Westchester County
Historical Society and the Westchester Municipal Planning Federation.
