Get set for fun this summer.
Playland is now open - so are county beaches and pools.
Check the schedule for exact beach and pool operating days and times. As you enjoy the outdoors and the sunny days, remember to apply sunscreen before going outside and to take it easy when hot, humid weather rolls in.
Hot off the press is the
2009-10 Westchester Way Travel Guide. This annually produced guide has a wealth of information on things to do and places to visit in Westchester.
The county's six golf course are open for the 2009 season. Remember to use the
automated system to reserve your tee time.
Or reserve using the
E-Z Reserve program, available on weekends only. This program enables golfers with a Westchester County Park Pass to block out a regular starting tee time for a period of 25 weeks. Saturday tee times will end Sept. 27. Sunday tee times will end Sept. 28.
There is an E-Z Reserve fee of $250 per player due when tee times are assigned. Greens fees can be paid at check-in each week. Payment can be made with cash, check, Visa, MasterCard or American Express. E-Z Reserve tee times will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. One tee-time will be allowed per park pass holder.
Substitute players will be allowed on the day of play. Golfers will be responsible for providing a substitute.
Nows the time to learn about and explore the many, beautiful miles of
trailways in our county parks. Our
Be Fit Westchester program encourages adults and children alike to get into shape through walking, cycling and running in areas that are right outside your backdoor.
Volunteers have been the the heart and spirit of the Westchester County Parks system since the 1920s. Every year, we rely on thousands of civic-minded individuals, organizations and groups to volunteer their time and efforts to help make the parks one of the most outstanding park systems in the country.
