Always Something to Do in Westchester County
Bicycle Sundays, Playland, pools and beaches, outdoor movies
During the summer, our popular
Screenings Under the Stars series of movies returns. The next movie will be Thursday, Aug. 21, when the family favorite "Shrek the Third" (PG, 2007) will be screened at sundown, followed by a special presentation of the cult classic "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" (R, 1975) at 12 midnight the same night.
If you're looking to cool down from the summer heat, county beaches and pools are now open. Reserve at least one Sunday this summer to visit the Farmers Market at Muscoot Farm in Somers. Or get some well-deserved exercise during Bicycle Sundays. Joggers, walkers and those with strollers are welcome. Check the listing of Heritage Festivals for upcoming celebrations too.
If shopping and antiquing are your passion, the Office of Tourism offers a list of suggested destinations. Or if you prefer meandering through orchards, farmers markets and wineries, Westchester County has them too. Considering a convention? We can help plan it.
As you get into shape for the summer months, look into the Be Fit Westchester, a program that encourages adults and children alike to get into shape by exploring the miles of trailways in our county parks.
Volunteers have been the the heart and spirit of the Westchester County Parks system since the 1920s. Every year, we rely on thousands of civic-minded individuals, organizations and groups to volunteer their time and efforts to help make the parks one of the most outstanding park systems in the country. Won’t you help as well?
