Muscoot Young Farmers Program offers a specialized & fun experience for your child Each summer children entering grades 3 through 8 experience the wonders of farm life during a memorable week in the Young Farmers Program at Muscoot Farm. This is a unique opportunity for your child to learn about farm life, food production and  the animals that reside at this 777-acre working farm.
Top of Page   During a week-long session children participate in a regular farm routine, as well as in special educational programs. This hands-on approach helps children develop a greater understanding of where food comes from, the care and maintenance of domestic animals and what chores are done in the daily life of running a farm. After chores, children have an opportunity to experience traditional crafts, games and activities enjoyed by farm children of the 19th century.

During camp, children will collect eggs, milk cows, feed and groom animals and bake traditional Muscoot recipes. They'll also try their hands at hand cranking ice cream, making period crafts and planting and maintaining a garden.
Appropriate ages for the program:
Farm hands: Grades 3 and 4
Cowpokes: Grades 5 and 6
Cornhuskers: Grades 7 and 8*
* Weeks 5 & 6 available only
