INFORMATION

Information to the public about the Bronx River Parkway Reservation is vital to both encourage its use and to enlist support for the efforts to help restore this key linear park. In 2004-05 a number of publications and information initiatives were stepped up to help bring the public closer to the river.

The Bronx River Connection, the newsletter of the Bronx River, which premiered in 2002, provided vital information about the key events and initiatives that made an impact on the river communities. The newsletter is available at the Kensico Dam Plaza, online, via email or at the Westchester County Tourism Information Center on the Bronx River Parkway which was converted from a historic parkway gas station parkway and has available a variety of information about the river, the parkway and the reservation for the public.

A Bronx River pathway brochure, featuring a history of the pathway and a map with points of interest, access points, parking areas and other details has been produced and made available to the public.

The parks website www.westchestergov.com/parks features a special section dedicated to the history of the Bronx River Parkway Reservation and other details and maps. The website also includes the 2003 Bronx River Annual Report.

The Bronx River parkway has also been included the first full scale brochure of Westchester trailways.
