Scout Leads Volunteers in Building Boardwalk along Cranberry Lake

Life Scout Andre Salazar, 17, a White Plains High School student, recently enlisted the aid of other scouts, friends and family members to build 100 feet of boardwalk along Cranberry Lake in North White Plains. Salazar, of Troop 73 in White Plains, managed the design, fabrication and installation of the boardwalk to permit access to the muddy areas of the trails around the lake. He also designed, fabricated, and installed a park bench in the same area as part of his Eagle Scout project.
