WESTCHESTER’S EARTH DAY CELEBRATION 2008

 

Many joined the effort against global warming in a fun and entertaining way and discovered practical and easy ways to make their home, the earth and Westchester County a cleaner, greener and healthier place to live – and had some fun at the same time at Westchester County’s Earth Day Celebration, Sunday, April 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla.

PITCH IN FOR PARKS” ON APRIL 13, 2008

Westchester’s annual spruce-up promotes teamwork and camaraderie

Spring is here and Westchester County Parks is issued the call to civic-minded individuals, organizations and community groups to take part in the annual “Pitch in for Parks,” Sunday, April 13, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at most county park locations. Volunteers of all ages, interests and skills were invited to join in this worthwhile community effort to help spruce up the county parks, pathways and nature preserves for the season ahead.
