WHAT IS THE 
A mobile health and fitness facility that will travel throughout
Westchester County this summer visiting parks, pools and beaches to help
people of all ages learn how to have fun getting and keeping fit.
WHO OPERATES THE
The Fit-Mobile is owned and operated by the Westchester County Parks
Department. It is funded by Hudson Valley Bank.
WHAT'S IN THE
The van provides a variety of fitness-related items such as hula hoops,
jump ropes, soccer balls, Frisbees, an agility ladder and sacks for
old-fashioned competitive races.
WHO QUALIFIES FOR A VISIT FROM THE
The Fit Mobile is available for any not-for-profit agency and facility,
such as a park, recreation facility or day camp. Scheduling will be done
on a first-come, first-served basis. We do not guarantee that all requests
will be accommodated.
WHAT TYPE OF LOGISTICS IS REQUIRED
FOR THE VISIT?
The van requires a specially designated flat space that can accommodate
ample room for the activities mentioned above, depending on the number of
potential participants. Suggested minimal space is an area 50 X 50 feet.
WHAT TYPE OF SUPERVISION IS REQUIRED
DURING THE VISIT?
The van is staffed with two adult fitness supervisors who will direct
activities and provide assistance where required, but your group must have
a sufficient number of supervisory staff, adults and/or guardians present
throughout the duration of the visit.
WHAT IF IT RAINS ON THE DAY OF OUR
VISIT?
If your event is scheduled outdoors and it rains, the event will be
cancelled and rescheduled according to availability.
