Welcome to Westchester County Government’s first open discussion. The issue is Open Space. We’d like to hear from you…and… we’d like you to talk "amongst yourselves." Here’s how it works:
As you may know, one of the priorities of my administration is to protect and preserve Westchester’s open space–our most precious resource—as a legacy for our children. The Planning Department has formulated a new Open Space Plan --and now we'd like you to use it as a basis for giving us your suggestions on what properties the County should consider purchasing.
By selecting the above Add Property button, filling in the property information requested and checking the boxes that meet our open space criteria, you will be giving us input we need.
Properties will be listed on the left ordered by municipality. The person proposing the property will give all the initial information. Once a property is listed, comments can be added by selecting the listed property and "Add Comment" button. Comments to property listings on this website are usually posted within a few business days.
While we will not be able to respond to you directly, be assured that the site is being monitored by staff. If we are interested in a parcel that is suggested, the County will do its own due diligence.
In short, you may propose a property not already identified, or you may comment on a property already proposed. We are waiting to hear from you.
