| Comment: | I used to rent on this property, and would love to see it become an outdoor recreational facility, or park. It is a beautiful piece of property, and it would be a real shame to see it get turned into condominiums, or oversized homes....I hope that this proposal goes through! |

| Comment: | This Lovely 17 acre plot of land is set right off Rte 202. The grand historic Cortlandt Hotel with a colonaded front and mansard roof dating from the 1800's is set on a beautifully set on a hill which can be seen from Crompound Road. Behind it lies an big old red three story barn set near another smaller house which currently has occupants. The area still has open fields, another out building and a pond dating from a time when farming was a way a life. A long hill on the west side of the property shields it from the houses on Lafayette Avenue. It also has wetlands and a heavily wooded area. Needless to say the property has historic as well as natural significance. It's uses could be many. One is a park for the children who do not have a park in this part of town. As well as a natural area for the generations to come to enjoy. It's use as an open space should be taken into serious consideration. Before some developer turns what is a property that has a sence of place into another case of urban spawl. Thank you for your consideration. |
