| Comment: | This property is a large tract of undeveloped land in the hamlet of Bedford Hills which includes as it's most outstanding feature a gorge with steep slopes and topography variations contributiong to spectacular views on par with the nearby Mianus River Gorge. The 100 arces parcel contains important wetlands and a steam which feeds into the Broad Brook. There is a rare stand of old growth hemlock and a rich varity of mammal, bird and amphibian wildlife. Recently a black bear in migration was observed there. This property represents a key wildlife corridor and has potential to connect with other nature preserves to form a greenway. This property would be ideal for passive recreational uses. |
