BICYCLE SUNDAY ON THE BRONX RIVER PARKWAY HAS BEEN CANCELLED

Friday announceents:
  • Motorists are urged to avoid the county parkways that are prone to flooding (Bronx River, Saw Mill River, Hutchinson River). Depending on what happens, sections of these parkways are likely to be closed at times.
  • There is a potential for 5-8 inches of rain, beginning Friday evening and continuing all day Saturday. Winds are expected to be consistently 30 miles per hour, with gusts of 45 mph.
  • The storm is expected to hit hardest in the northern parts of the county.
  • The county will open its Emergency Operations Center to monitor the storm.
  • If you lose power, please contact Con Edison (800-752-6633) or New York Electric and Gas (800-572-1131). Do not assume someone else has contacted the utility.
  • Report any down wires to your local police department.
